Three Metter High School cheerleaders were chosen to participate in events for the Peach Bowl at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium held over New Year’s Eve weekend. This past summer, all MHS cheerleaders went to the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) camp at Georgia Southern. Throughout the week, the cheerleaders participated in team-building exercises and strengthening their faith and cheerleading skills. Â
Lily-Ann Parrish, 9th grade, Anna Lisa Mercer, 10th grade and Ryann Crooms, 12th grade were chosen as All American Cheerleaders at camp. This title earned them a spot to cheer among a group of 42 cheerleaders from across the country during the SEC semi-finals. Finalists chosen ranged from California to North Carolina. Â
In Atlanta, the girls attended breakout sessions to learn choreography and a banquet where they were recognized for their accomplishments. The highlights of the trip were cheering in the parade before the game, opening the Fan Fest pep rally with their Supreme Routine and chants for Georgia and Ohio, pictures and cheers on the field at the stadium, and attending the game where they were recognized on the big screen. Â
The girls were sponsored by MHS Cheer, Athletic Boosters and the Rackett Family.
