Metter runner picks up two medals in two weeks

This past weekend Metter High runner Angel Jarvis won her age group for the Alpharetta Women’s Half-Marathon, 13.1 miles around Avalon and through some of Alpharetta’s most scenic sites. She was 58th out of 608 runners and first place in the 15-19 age group with a time of 1:52:13. This is her second time of winning her age division in this race which is Angel’s fourth half-marathon.

On Oct. 26, Angel placed second in the 15-19 female group in the True Blue 5K sponsored by The Abbie Deloach Foundation as a part of Georgia Southern’s Homecoming activities. The race was at the RAC. She finished the 3.1 mile course in 22:15.
