Angel Jarvis completes 22.1 miles for the weekend

Angel Jarvis

Angel Jarvis had a great running weekend. On Saturday, February 22, 2020, she completed The Chocolate Run 10K race in Statesboro, finishing first in her division, females between the ages of 15 and 19. With a time of 49 minutes, 50.1 seconds, she was the fifth overall female to finish and the 12th runner to cross the finish line.

The Chocolate Run, also called The Sweetest Race, is an annual event held at the Georgia Southern University RAC Pavilion to raise funds and awareness for the Open Hearts Community Mission, a homeless ministry serving Bulloch County. Angel has participated in The Chocolate Run for the past five years.

After completing the 10K race, 6.2 miles, Angel rushed to Brooklet where she participated in Farm Daze 2020 as a non-competing runner. Held at Hunter Cattle Company, Farm Daze is an ultra 24-hour run. Only 100 runners were allowed to register for the race, but others were encouraged to “run along” with their friends and teammates. Angel participated with members of her running group from Statesboro’s Best Running.

Adding to her miles on Saturday, Angel ran her usual 3 miles on Friday and Sunday, bringing her weekend total miles run to 22.1 miles.
