Last Tuesday night, Jan. 14, the Metter High Lady Tigers hosted 9-1 region leader Bryan County and lost by a score of 47-28.
Down by only 4 at the half, Metter was outscored 26-11 in the second half.
Leading scorer in the game was Tamira Walker with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 turnovers. Ja'Khia Edenfield was next with 5 points and 2 rebounds with only 2 turnovers.
Parijia Mincey added 2 points but grabbed 6 rebounds in the contest with no turnovers. Shay Johnson also had 2 points and 6 rebounds. Morgan Aldrich contributed 2 points and 3 rebounds.

The Lady Tigers beat the St. Vincent’s Saints by a score of 45-43. After losing to St. Vincent's at home earlier in the season by a point, the Lady Tigers found a way to win on the road in a tough gym.
Leading the way in points for the Lady Tigers’ fourth region victory were Shay Johnson, 14; Tamira Walker and Atlantis Roundtree, 10 each; Ja'Khia Edenfield, 6; and Diamond Kelly and DeAyshia Gordon, 2 each.
Leading rebounders were Atlantis Roundtree with 10; Parijia Mincey, 8; JaKhia Edenfield and Tamira Walker, 7 each; Shay Johnson, 6; DeAyshia Gordon, 4; Diamond Kelly and Chauree Smith, 3 each; Morgan Aldrich, 2 and Hagan Guiff , 1.
Atlantis Roundtree had her first double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Tamira Walker had a season-high 5 blocked shots. The Metter High girls also had a season-high 51 rebounds for the game.
This past weekend action for the Lady Tigers basketball team resulted in two tough losses.
Having four games this week, three were tough road games. After beating St. Vincent’s on Wednesday, the Lady Tigers traveled to Jeff Davis on Friday and lost a close one by 4 points, 47-43.
Leading the Tigers was Shay Johnson with 24 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. DeAyshia Gordon had 5 points and a team-high 14 rebounds and added 2 steals.
Next, Ja’Khia Edenfield also had 5 points going 1 for 2 from the free-throw line. Freshman Hagan Guiff had a put-back for two and was also 1 for 4 from the free-throw stripe.
Tamira Walker had 2 points but added 10 rebounds and 2 steals. Morgan Aldrich had 2 points and 3 rebounds. Ralkeria Williamson also had 2 points.

On Saturday night, the team traveled to ECI to take on the Lady Bulldogs. Metter lost by a score of 56-42.
After closing the halftime lead to two in the second half, ECI stretched the lead late and won by 14 points.
Leading the Lady Tigers was Tamira Walker who had 20 points going 6 for 8 from the free-throw line and added 6 rebounds.
Shay Johnson had 11 points going 1 for 2 from the free-throw line and 5 rebounds. Next, Ralkeria Williamson had 9 points, all in the first half and all coming from 3’s. DeAyshia Gordon and Parijia Mincey both went 1 for 2 from the free-throw line and both had 3 rebounds each. Parijia also had 2 steals.
The Lady Tigers are now 8-12 overall and 4-8 in the region. Metter will host the Bacon County Lady Raiders on Friday.
