This past week, Metter Tiger varsity and JV baseball teams went 5-0 and threw three no-hitters.
On Tuesday, March 9, the Tigers traveled to Portal to face off in a JV and varsity game. Reco Coney got the win in the JV game as Metter won by a score of 6-0.
The varsity game ended 12-0 with Brian Crooms throwing a no-hitter and striking out 11 players. Rustan and Randan Rigdon had two hits apiece.
On Wednesday, March 11, Metter traveled to Vidalia to play the Vidalia Indians in a JV/varsity double header.
The JV team won 4-0, throwing a no-hitter behind the pitching of Jayden Deloach and Eric Bragg.
In the varsity game, Rustan Rigdon got the win, allowing four hits over four innings, and John Luke Glaton earned the save. Kyzer Anthony led the team with two hits. Brendan Wood had a hit and an RBI.
On Friday night, March 13, Portal came to Metter. Randan Rigdon and John Luke Glanton combined to throw a no-hitter. Metter also had 14 hits in four innings, led by Antoine Deloach, Randan Rigdon, Brendan Wood and Tyler Kirkland, who had two hits each.
On Tuesday, March 16, Metter faced off at 6 p.m. against Claxton in a region game.
On Wednesday, March 17, the Tigers will travel to play against the South Effingham Mustangs at 6 p.m. p.m., and on Friday, March 19, the Tigers will travel to Claxton for another region match-up at 5:30 p.m.
