The varsity Eagles of David Emanuel Academy defeated Faith Academy to open the 2019-2020 basketball season on Nov. 19.

The varsity girls won 44-21 behind the scoring of Bree Wimberly with 26, Liz Dye with 11 and Jordyn Bell with 7.

In the boys’ 40-21 win, Ethan Wells led the Eagle scoring with 15 with Dane Arrington tossing in 10. Racyn Faircloth added 9, Tony Sutton tossed in 3, Garrett Claxton had 2 and Jesse Moore had 1 to round out the Eagle scoring.

The Eagles return to action on Dec. 3 when they travel to Twiggs Academy. The middle school girls will open play at 4 p.m., with middle school boys playing at 5 p.m. Varsity girl action will begin at 6 p.m., followed by the varsity boys at 7 p.m.
