David Emanuel Academy suffered their first loss of the season on Friday when they lost to Covenant 62-32 in Stillmore.
The visiting Covenant Academy got on the scoreboard first with a touchdown and two-point conversion. The Eagles responded with a touchdown of their own when Jesse Moore reached paydirt on a 46-yard run. Banks Booth ran in the two point conversion and the score was tied at 8.
After another touchdown and two-point conversion from Covenant, DEA returned to the end zone, this time on a 33-yard touchdown reception from Booth to Racyn Faircloth. The two-point try was unsuccessful, and the Eagles trailed 14-16.
Covenant Academy added two TDs to move the score to 14-30 before Booth again connected with Faircloth, this time on a 24-yard touchdown reception. The two-point try was no good, and the score stood at 20-30.
Another Covenant TD and two-point try was answered by the Eagles when Timothy Braddock took it home on a two-yard run. Again, the two-point try was unsuccessful and the score stood at 26-38.
Covenant reached paydirt on several attempts as they expanded their lead to 26-62 before Braddock returned to the end zone on a 1-yard run. The two point try was unsuccessful and the final score was 32-62.
The Eagles return to action on Nov. 20 for the State semifinals. DEA will host the game against an as yet unnamed opponent.
