Eagles win over HCA

Eagle Banks Booth aims for the basket against Heritage of Brunswick. Booth led the middle school Eagles with 12 points.

The Eagles made a complete sweep of Heritage Christian Academy in Brunswick on Friday, Jan. 10. 

The middle school girls opened the series, as the Lady Eagles won 41-16 over HCA. DEA’s Bree Wimberly led all scorers with 18 points, followed by Aubrey Williams with 5. Emma Proctor, Kyli Bell and Addalyn Terwilliger tossed in 4 points each, while Ella Claire Claxton, Maddie Perkins and Jada Lewis each had 2 points for DEA.

In the middle school boys’ 37-17 win over HCA, Banks Booth with 12 and Randon Williams with 10 led the Eagle scoring effort. Also scoring for DEA were Brody Fleming with 7, Tony Sutton with 6 and John Kersey with 2.

The varsity girls picked up a 42-21 win over HCA. Again, Bree Wimberly led the Lady Eagles in scoring with 16 points, followed by Sarah Jo Perkins with 9. Liz Dye tossed in 7. Jordyn Bell and Emma Proctor had 5 points each to complete DEA’s scoring.

The varsity boys won 45-34 over HCA, with senior Ethan Wells scoring a whopping 29 points for DEA. Also scoring for the Eagles were Racyn Faircloth with 7, Jesse Moore with 3 and Dylan Bird, Garrett Claxton and Tony Sutton with 2 points each.
