The middle school boys won a 53-48 decision over Twiggs Academy on Dec. 14, while the varsity boys lost a tough 45-77 decision.
In the middle school contest, Brody Fleming exploded for a whopping 26 points to lead DEA, followed by Banks Booth with 15. Also scoring for DEA were Peyton Lee and Richard Braddy with 4 points each and Landon Lindsey and Cooper Riley, each with 2 points.
It was Randon Williams who paced the Eagle scoring in the varsity boys’ loss with 22 points. Banks Booth with 14 points also hit double digits for DEA.
Other scorers were Reece Youmans, Billy Martin and Tony Sutton who tossed in 3 points each.
The middle school boys also defeated Pinewood Christian Academy 42-41 in overtime on Dec. 15.
Banks Booth led the Eagle scorers with 21, followed by Brody Fleming with 10. Peyton Lee with 8 and Richard Braddy with 3 rounded out the DEA scoring.
