Kermit White, age 79 of Griffin, Georgia passed away Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Wellstar Spalding Hospital.
Mr. White was born in Metter, Georgia on February 6, 1941. He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Ruby Marsh White; brothers, Auley White, Dentley White, and Earl White; son, Shawn Patrick White. Mr. White retired from Eastern Airlines with 27 years of service as an airplane mechanic, and then retired from Fayette County School system with 15 years of service. In his spare time he loved hunting for Civil War relics, he enjoyed reading about history, loved to deer hunt and loved football.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Lucy Hamilton White; sons and daughters in law, Michael and Kathy White, Kerry and Merri White; grandchildren, Katherine White Darsey, Patrick White, Anna White, Lydia White; great granddaughter, Natalie Darsey. Several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 11 am until 1 pm at Conner-Westbury Funeral Home.
A funeral service will follow in the Chapel at 1 pm with Reverend Glen Vogel and Bobby Kerlin officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Memorial Park in Fayetteville.
