Silas Webber, 85, of Cobbtown, left us peacefully early Monday, July 26, 2021, under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.  Born in Toombs County, Georgia, he was the son of Willie E. and Sadie Davis Webber.  He was a devoted husband, a loving father to his three daughters, and a doting papa to his seven grandchildren. He was an avid outdoorsman, a skilled welder, a member of the Boilermakers’ Union and a master HVAC craftsman, having owned his own business for many years.  He could play the piano with unrivaled skill. He played in a number of gospel groups, quartets and churches.  He was a lifelong member of the Church of God.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father, Willie E. and Sadie Davis Webber, five sisters, Freddie (Bud) Spivey, Sally (Francis Berry) Rahn, Mary Collins Warren, Jeanette (JD) Minor Eubanks and Jean (Toby) Manuel, and four brothers, Sam (AnnieBeth) Webber, Charles Edward (Doris) Webber, Lewis (Ann) Webber and Daniel Webber.

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Marlene Webber, his three daughters, Cheryl (Detlef) Holderfield, Teal (Lelon) Jeffers, Lara (Mark) Miller; his seven grandchildren, Jeremy Pack, Chris (Steve) Sewell, Lian (Caleb) Eubanks, Bailey (Reeva) Jeffers, Blake (Stephanie) Jeffers, Hannah (Jalen) Reyes and Eli John-Silas Nelson. He also leaves behind many great and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and friends.

The funeral service will be held 11 o’clock in the morning, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, at Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church in Collins, Ga.  The family will receive guests from 10 until 11 o’clock on Wednesday morning at the church.  Interment will follow in Cedar Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.
