Catrina Ellis Hampton was born on January 20, 1958 in Candler County, Georgia to the late Mr. Josh W. and Anna Atteberry Ellis. She entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at Augusta University Medical Center.

 She was a graduate of the Metter High School class of 1976. She attended Savannah State College “University”. Catrina joined the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge in 1985. She was employed, as a custodian for over ten (10) years with St. Joseph’s/Candler Medical Group in Metter. She had a great love for fishing and tending her garden but mostly, for her family.

 She leaves to cherish her loving memory: her only son, Duran E. Hampton of Metter; one loving sister, Theresa (Willie Lee) Williams of Metter; three brothers, Alton (Janet) Ellis and Carl Lee Ellis, both of Metter and Hallery L. (Miranda) Ellis of Phoenix AZ; two favorite nieces, Roberta (Michael) Nelson and Zamora Brown; one favorite nephew, Gregory Carswell; her best friend, Mae F. Wells; special friend, Lila Rawls; a special godmother, Sallie Ellis; and several other loving family members and friends.

 A public viewing will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at W.H. Whitaker Memorial Chapel, from 9 a.m.-12 noon.

 A graveside service will be held also on Saturday, at 2 p.m. at Dixon Grove Cemetery, 1735 Lake Church Road, Metter.

 Pastor William E. Reaves Jr. will serve as eulogist and presiding will be lay speaker Donna Kennedy.

 W.H. Whitaker Funeral Home of Metter is in charge of arrangements.
