P. Joann Kirk, 69 of Metter, GA passed away Monday, January 10, 2022 unexpectedly due to complications from surgery. Joann was born in Statesboro, GA on December 21, 1952 to Walter C. Davis and Lottie P. Davis of Metter, GA. She was preceded in death by both parents and 2 brothers, Benny L. Johnson and Walter “Len” Davis.

 Joann leaves behind her 3 children, Jeff Kirk (Leslie), Shae Kirk and Stephanie Kirk.

 Joann had great adoration for her work with outdoor photography. During Joann’s 20-year professional photography career, her unique visions were published numerous times throughout her life. Joann was able to share her fondness and passion for nature with so many throughout the years. Joann was an integral silent contributing partner in many published works including Smokey Mountains Trout Fishing Guide (first book of its kind at the time of publishing), Fishing the Great Lakes of the South along with numerous

outdoor magazines such as Outdoor Life, Field and Stream and many more. Joann also worked for the local newspaper (Citizen Tribune) in Morristown, TN as a photographer for several years.

 Joann’s greatest love was her grandchildren, Taylor Kirk, Christian Miller, Jake Kirk, Megan Six (Mike) and great grandchild Mia. She was an amazing mother and friend to many and will be remembered fondly and greatly missed.

 Joann will be interned (with her puppy dogs) at El Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in Twin City, GA.

 A Celebration of Life will be held for her in the near future.

 In remembrance of Joann’s life, the family asks that in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be made to American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
