Ray Bozeman, 68, of Adel, Georgia, passed away on December 31, 2020, at South Georgia Medical Center in Valdosta. Mr. Bozeman was born on February 13, 1952, in Adel. He was the son of the late Dr. William Francis “W.F.” Bozeman and Evelyn Estelle Woodard Bozeman. Mr. Bozeman lived in Cook County his entire life where he served as a veterinary assistant until his retirement. He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Adel.
Mr. Bozeman is survived by his wife, Lucy Futch Bozeman of Adel; his daughter, Errin Bagwell of Evans; two granddaughters, Megan Bagwell and Kate Bagwell, both of Evans; a sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Billy Crider of Metter; his mother-in-law, Billie Sue Futch of Adel; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Lyn and Buddy Rogers of Adel, Leigh and Alan Dukes of Adel, and Joe Futch of Ochlocknee, Georgia; and a host of special nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A private chapel service was held at Boone Funeral Home on Saturday, January 2, 2021, with Elder Thad Marshall and Elder Dwight Marshall officiating. He was laid to rest at Woodlawn City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Crider, Clint Rogers, Chris Rogers, Daniel Dukes, Trammel Dukes, Reid Harvey, Stewart Jarrell and Jay Mock. Elder Dwight Marshall led the congregation in the singing of “Shall We Gather at the River.”
The family will continue to accept flowers but they would also be honored for everyone to make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Mr. Bozeman’s dedication to helping his fellow man.
