Larry Devone Williams, 72, of Cobbtown, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah.

 Mr. Williams was born in Toombs County on November 10, 1947 to Dorsey James Williams and Eulene Boyette Williams Hamm.  He lived in Cobbtown area most of his life and graduated in 1966 from Collins High School. Mr. Williams was a veteran and served in the United States Army.  During that time, he was stationed at Ft. Benning, Ga, Ft. McClellan, AL and Ft. Wainwright Fairbanks, Alaska. He furthered his education at Swainsboro Technical College and later retired as a Correctional Officer from Rogers State Prison in Reidsville. Mr. Williams was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family, especially his two grandsons, who affectionately called him “DaDa”.  In addition to his parents, Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his stepfather, Gordon Hamm. 

Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Dorsey and Esperanza Williams of Cobbtown; his daughter, Adelia Williams of Collins; his two grandsons, Terry Williams and Anthony Williams of Cobbtown. 

The graveside service will be held at 10 o’clock in the morning on Monday August 17, 2020 at Connors Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Roger Branch officiating.

All distancing requirements will be in place.  Face mask are suggested.
