Edna Hilderbrandt Dowd, 76, of Metter slipped peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus on Friday evening, March 3, 2023, at Community Hospice in Vidalia. Edna was born on November 8, 1946 to Mr. Claude H. and Mrs. Mozell Beasley Hilderbrandt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Claudine Durham; and a brother, Raymond Hilderbrandt.
Edna is survived by a daughter, Deborah (Bronson) Steele; and five grandchildren, Brandon Murdock, Courtney Murdock (David), Chris Murdock (Sarah), Ashton Steele (Mikala), and Brandon Steele. Also surving are three great-grandchildren, Layla Murdock, Little D Davant, William Davant; and two nephews, Jimbo Durham and Ray Durham.
The family will receive friends Tuesday morning, March 7, 2023 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted Tuesday, at Lake Cemetery at 2 p.m. with Rev. Johnny Beasley officiating.
