Preliminary totals are in and Glyn Thrift (999) has won his bid for Re-election for another four year term. Bobby Odom received 553 votes.

 In the Coroner’s race, it was Joe Carter who garnered the most votes of the three candidates with 1122. Allen Tyler received 271 votes, while Jerry Brown received 173 votes.

 District Democratic 1 voters chose Gregory Thomas (109) as their candidate to face Republican Larry J. Miles in November.

 In the Special Election to fill the late Senator Jack Hill’s unexpired term, it was Billy Hickman who carried Candler County. In the Primary election for the next four-year term, local voters also selected Billy Hickman.

 In the District Attorney’s race, Tripp Fitzner carried Candler County over opponent Tony May with 1009 votes to 468.

 In the Presidential Preferences Primary, Democratic voters chose Joe Biden as their candidate for November.
