According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, Candler County has 233 Covid-19 cases as of Wednesday at 3 p.m., with four deaths reported. According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, 88 of the positive Covid tests were reported in the last two weeks.
In just one week, the number of positive Covid tests in Candler County has reached 181 as of Monday, up from 139 one week ago. That number reflects all local Covid-19 cases since the first positive test on March 29.
According to the Georgia Department of Public Health, Candler County has now had one death from Covid and has had eight hospitalizations.
Candler County EMA Deputy Director Justin Wells says he can offer no information regarding death.
“We have not been officially notified by the Georgia Department of Public Health about any Covid deaths other than what is being published on the public website,” he said.
At Candler County Hospital, Public Relations Director Marty Ray said, “We are continuing to see a lot of Covid-19 test requests. However, the hospitalizations remain low at Candler County Hospital. We are capable and ready to handle whatever our community needs.”
