On Friday, August 21, 2020, Rodney Keith Wilson of Swainsboro, Georgia was arrested by Metter Police Officers in coordination with the Emanuel County Sheriff’s Office for Impersonating a Police Officer. The charge stems from an investigation conducted by the Metter Police Department.
The Metter Police Department was notified by a local business that Wilson had been in their place of business and was purporting to be a law enforcement officer, who was working a case, and requested services. The investigation revealed that Wilson was not a law enforcement officer. Based on the investigation, warrants were issued for Wilson’s arrest. Wilson is currently in the Candler County Jail after bond was denied. This is an ongoing investigation and more charges could be filed.
Wilson was released earlier in the week in Emanuel County for two felony counts of threatening witnesses in official proceedings and two misdemeanor counts involving simple battery.
