High winds at interstate

Afternoon thunderstorms are not uncommon this summer. But on Wednesday, July 3, just as folks were preparing for their long holiday weekend, a thunderstorm popped up that created a little havoc near the interstate. Witnesses reported a trampoline blown from a residence into a nearby field and a sign blown down at a local business as more than 1/2 inch of rain fell.

Anne Williams of Pulaski captured this shot at Metter Municipal Airport of Carl Cone’s overturned airplane.
