A CRASE (Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events) course will be hosted by Metter Police Department at Anchor Worship Center, 88 Eldridge St., on Sept. 14 at 10 a.m.

 The course was designed and built on the ‘A’void, ‘D’eny, ‘D’efend (ADD) Strategy developed by ‘ALERRT’ in 2004. It provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. 

 Topics will include the history and prevalence of active shooter events and civilian response options.
