The doors of Bi-Lo were closed last month. Today (Wednesday), the doors of Metter’s newest grocery store, Food Lion, will open to the public.

Food Lion, located at 155 S. Leroy St., will have approximately 75 associates and serve customers daily from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Food Lion recently completed the acquisition of this location, which was formerly a BI-LO, after announcing its plans last year to acquire 62 BI-LO/Harveys Supermarkets across the Carolinas and Georgia.

In addition to its longstanding heritage of low prices, Food Lion also makes shopping easy and affordable for customers through its MVP loyalty program, its award-winning personalized Shop & Earn monthly rewards offers and with weekly promotions, hot sales, and everyday low prices.

“I am so excited to open the new Food Lion location in Metter and continue serving my neighbors for many years to come,” said Cody Ellison, a Metter resident and store manager of the new Food Lion. “I can’t wait to show off our new store. We’ll be offering an expanded assortment of items in all departments as well as many updates throughout the store.

“The hardest part of this transition has been not being able to interact with as many neighbors over the past few weeks, so I’m excited to welcome everyone into their new Food Lion this week.”
