The BRAG riders started arriving in town early Friday morning and by mid-morning, the majority had already passed through en route to Hinesville. The rest stop in Metter was sponsored by the City of Metter and Metter-Candler Chamber of Commerce. Over 1,000 cyclists took part in the ride.
“We had a wonderful turnout,” reported Heidi Jeffers, Metter’s executive director of tourism and business development. “The riders came from all over the country and from other countries. They loved Metter and were so excited to be back. Many of the returning riders said that Metter is a favorite stop.”
Cyclists pedaled into Metter from Swainsboro en route to their next stop en route to Hinesville. This year’s trek was from Elijay to Darien.
