Both Metter City Council and Candler County Commissioners anticipate adopting their Fiscal Year 2021 budgets during June.
City budget schedule
Metter City Council will hold a public hearing on their budget on Monday, June 1, at 5 p.m. at City Hall. At this time, Council will receive written and oral comments about the annual operating and capital budget.
The city plans to adopt the FY21 budget at their regular June meeting, Monday, June 8, at 5:30 p.m.
All hearings and meetings are open to the public. However, with social distancing measures and limited space in the meeting room, city meetings and hearings will be broadcast via teleconference: 701-802-5320 (meeting ID: 5547584).
Candler County Commissioners will hold a public hearing on the FY21 budget on Monday, June 15 at 4:30 p.m. at the commissioners’ office.
In keeping with social distancing recommendations, the hearing and subsequent meeting will be offered via telephone or online, or citizens may address the commission in person. However, individuals wishing to do so should contact the commissioners’ office at 912-685-2835 to be added to the speakers’ list. Only one citizen will be permitted in the meeting room at a time. All others must maintain social distancing recommendations and will be called to address the commission on a first-come, first-served basis.
Commissioners are scheduled to adopt the budget at a called meeting on June 22 at 5 p.m.
