The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance program funded by the Georgia Department of Human Services will be operated by Action Pact, the local Community Action Agency, beginning Nov. 2.

Only elderly (65+) and homebound households will be served from Nov. 2-30. To qualify as an elderly household, all adult members of the household must be 65 years of age or older.

To qualify as a homebound household, there can be no one in the household who is not homebound, or you must be the sole caretaker of a homebound member. All other income-eligible applicants may call beginning Dec. 1 and will be served if funds are available.

To schedule an appointment, call 912-685-2580 beginning Nov. 2.

Program income guidelines have been set at 60% of the state’s median income.

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program is operated on a first-come, first-served basis and will end upon depletion of funds.
