The highlight of Thursday’s State of the Community breakfast at Willow Lake was the unveiling of the 2019-2020 Candler County Community Magazine and Chamber Guide.
Before he unveiled this year’s publication, Publisher Carvy Snell said, “This is a labor of love.” Speaking of him and his staff at Metter Advertiser who begin working on the next magazine the same month the current publication is unveiled, he added, “We take it on with everything else we’ve got to do.” He then recognized the Chamber of Commerce, particularly Executive Director Victoria Gaitten, who partners with the newspaper to present the publication each year.
While recognizing the writers, copy editors, photographers and graphic artists, Snell added, “What I’m most proud of is the support we get from the businesses. It takes that support. One of the purposes of this magazine is to be used as a tool by Chamber, County and City to help promote Metter and Candler County.
“A lot of towns and cities our size do not have this. I am very proud that we have a community that will say yes ...”
