Marine Corps Reserves Toys for Tots in partnership with local Candler County businesses will once again make Christmas Merry for less fortunate children in the community. Toy collection will run until Dec. 11.
“With the liquidation of Toys R Us in June 2018, the Marines Toys for Tots Foundation lost over $5,000,000 that was used to purchase supplemental toys that were used to supplement local collections. Therefore, we will be depending heavily on the local community to assist us in making up the difference so every child in need will receive a toy at Christmas,” stated Chief Warrant Officer 3 (CWO3) Willie Haynes, Toys for Tots Local Community Organizer for Candler County.
Local businesses serving as drop off sites are Bevricks Char House Grille; Metter Prek-8th grade complex; Metter Bank; Probation Office; Candler County Boys & Girls Club; L.C. Anderson Memorial Library; Metter Ford; Metter Chiropractic Center and Randy’s Wrecker & Service Center.
Families wishing to apply can pickup an application at the Boys and Girls Club of Central Ga Candler County unit at 421 West Vertia Street.
