The City of Metter is scheduled to begin their new 2019 LMIG construction project on Sept. 8 with Y-Delta as the general contractor.

The project will consist of a new 2-inch water line on South College St. between Neal St. and Hiawatha St., and upgrade of the sewer line on South College St. between Pine St. and Hiawatha St. Resurfacing of South College St. between Pine St. and Hiawatha St. will follow.

Construction cost for this project is $255,219.26. The funding for this project is coming from a GDOT LMIG Grant, Water/Sewer Renewal & Replacement Program and TIA Discretionary Fund.

“We just want to let the public be aware of the construction that will be going on in that area,” said Public Works Director Cliff Hendrix. “The project should take an estimated three months to complete.”
