Metter Police Sgt. Kristopher M. Storey has announced his intention to run for sheriff of Candler County in 2020.

“As of this day, our citizens have a choice,” Storey said. Saying that he will lead by example, Storey added, “This office is not about the individual that holds the title; this office is about giving all citizens a law enforcement agency that they, the citizens, can be involved in and proud of.”

“My family ties to law enforcement and service to this community run deep,” Storey said. He is the great-grandson of Charlie H. Bell Jr., who once served as Metter’s chief of police. His uncle, Homer Bell, was sheriff of Candler County for 35 years.

He has over 1100 hours and is an Expert Marskman.
