New school year in Metter

Talking about a fun day in Candler County!

Saturday was the Communities In Schools of Candler County and Metter Police Department’s annual Back to School Carnival.

“There were so many that made this wonderful day such a great success,” said Roberta Graham, executive director of Communities in Schools. “It is great to live and work in a community that cares and gives as much as this community does. Thank you, thank you.

“We gave out around 325 book bags. There were games, free food, dunking booth, big slide, basketball game, free haircuts, and some of the best music.”

“It was great to see so many in the community enjoying the event. We look forward to the event next year.  We also want to thank all of our partners for their participation.  Without them this event could not happen. “Said, Chief Robert Shore.

Starting a new year
