Metter High seniors Cole McCranie and Christian Martinez played in the annual Georgia Athletic Coaches Association North-South All-Star Football Classic on Dec. 29 in Atlanta. This game pits the top high school players in Georgia against one another, and in this case, the Metter football standouts played on the South team, which won 30-10.

“Cole and Christian played well, and their South team won handily,” said Tiger Head Coach Rodney Garvin. Garvin said that he spoke with numerous coaches and “they all had nothing but positive things to say about our kids’ attitude and character. They represented Metter in a positive light!”

This wasn’t the only good news for the 2021 Metter Tigers. Over the Christmas break, the team learned that three senior players have been named to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution All-State Team: Christian Martinez, first team offensive line; Danny Cheley, first team defensive back and Josh Kelly, honorable mention running back.
