Percy London Hodges, 70, was indicted in Superior Court on Monday on charges of abandonment of a dead body.

Hodges was arrested in January after three bodies were found on Dec. 28 at a local recycling facility. The bodies had been stored in a shed behind Hodges Funeral Home in two metal containers and one casket.

Individuals hired to tear down the shed delivered the contents to the recycling facility for disposal. When they were offloading the items, one of the containers opened, revealing human remains and prompting an investigation.

During Monday’s session of court, the Grand Jury returned 12 additional true bills as follows:

Winona Lindsey, theft by taking.

Sarena Lambert Carr, theft by taking.

Herbert Bellinger III, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and DUI, less safe.
