Officer suspects drug activity in downtown alley, which leads to drug and weapons charges
Wendy Fulmer Bass, 43, of Metter and Sabrina Kay Jackson, 41, of Swainsboro, were arrested on Thursday by Metter Police Department on drug and weapon-related charges.
The incident began when officers encountered a suspicious vehicle located in an alley in downtown Metter.
Upon making contact, officers discovered a quantity of methamphetamine, a large amount of unprescribed Schedule II and IV narcotics and a loaded firearm.
The driver of the vehicle, along with a passenger, were arrested on drug and weapon violations and were transported to the Candler County Jail.
During a custodial search of the driver at the jail, a large quantity of methamphetamine, crack cocaine, ecstasy, and more Schedule II and IV narcotics were discovered. The estimated street value of the drugs is estimated to be more than $ 8,000.
Bass was charged with possession of a firearm/knife during the commission of/attempt to commit a crime; possession of a controlled substance; possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and trafficking in methamphetamines.
