School personnel get vaccinated

Rob Bowen gives a vaccine shot to Tom Golden.

On Friday, March 12, 2021, around 83 staff members of the Candler County School System were vaccinated for COVID-19.

“Our internal staff did a great job working with our community partners to efficiently administer the vaccinations to all interested staff,” said Superintendent Dr. Bubba Longgrear.

IHS Pharmacy and Candler Pharmacy administered the vaccine with additional support from Candler County Hospital. Candler County EMS were on standby for the event.

Staff members who received their first vaccine will receive their second vaccine on Friday, April 9 with the same agencies attending.

Anyone who qualifies for the vaccine and hasn’t received it can reach out to IHS Pharmacy, Candler Pharmacy, and Candler County Hospital to make an appointment.
