County holds swearing-in ceremony

A swearing-in ceremony for newly-elected and re-elected officials, who will take office on Jan. 1, was held on the Courthouse steps on Tuesday morning. Probate Judge Tony Thompson was sworn in by Superior Court Judge Bobby Reeves. Thomspon then swore in the various county officials. 

Taking part in the ceremony were (l-r) re-elected Commission Chair Glyn Thrift; re-elected State Court Judge Kendall Gross; newly-elected District 1 County Commissioner Gregory Thomas; Superior Court Judge Reeves; re-elected District 3 County Commissioner David Robinson; re-elected County Surveyor William Donaldson; re-elected Probate Court Judge Tony Thompson; Pastor Mike Newman, newly-appointed Deputy Coroner, who also gave the invocation; re-appointed Deputy Coroner Jamie Anderson; newly-appointed Deputy Coroner Kinzley Harris; re-elected Clerk of Court Jenny Grimes; newly-elected Coroner Joe Carter; newly-elected Tax Commissioner Jason Grimes; and re-elected Sheriff John Miles.
