Fourteen to compete for Miss MHS

Fourteen girls will vie for the title of Miss Metter High School on Thursday evening, March 4, at 7 p.m. in the PreK-8 Complex. Admission is $5 per person.

Through an application process, the girls are evaluated in the areas of academics, school and community involvement, and honors and awards. A tea will be held Thursday afternoon where the contestants will be interviewed individually by a panel of three judges. 

Thursday night, the girls will be evaluated in an evening gown competition, and contestants who are chosen as a top five finalist will answer an on-stage question prior to the crowning of the new Miss MHS. There will also be a People’s Choice Award, a Most Photogenic Award, and Miss Congeniality Award given during the pageant.

Special entertainment will be provided by Studio South Dancers.

Amy Barnes, the instructional coach at Metter High and Middle School, and Laney Tootle, Miss MHS 2020, will be the Mistresses of Ceremonies.

The proceeds from the Miss MHS Pageant support the Miss MHS Scholarship. Proceeds from the People’s Choice Award will go to the Metter High School Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Program.

Pageant participants are Brianna Aldrich, daughter of Jeremy and Kimberly Aldrich; Gracie Boyett, daughter of Justin and Marie See; Kayla Cowart, daughter of Doye Cowart and Melissa Clifton; Kaitlyn Dekle, daughter of Ramon Kelly and Shante’ Dekle; Angel Jarvis, daughter of Suzanne Tyson and Jim Jarvis; Kylie Johnson, daughter of Tim and Julie Johnson; Madison Jones, daughter of Tina Jimenez; Miriam Marlin, daughter of Pastor Sidney & Lawana Marlin; Arleigh Monroe, daughter of Jason and Pamela Monroe; Haley Mosley, daughter of Rhonda and Holt Mosley; Anna Motes, daughter of Pam and Wendell Motes; Harley Oliver, daughter of Jacqueline Lively; Serina Reeves, daughter of Samantha and Brian Reeves; and Tamira Walker, daughter of Shardee Walker and Octavian Henderson.
