Joy Shepherd, Administrator of Pleasant View Nursing Center received her first round of the COVID-19 vaccine from CVS registered pharmacist, Suvan Patel.

On Wednesday, January 13, several Pleasant View Nursing Center staff and residents received the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine.

CVS Pharmacy arrived on site and administered vaccines to 80% of the resident population and to 47% of the nursing and administrative staff. The second dose will be administered on February 3.

“We are doing everything we can possibly do to ensure the safety of our residents, staff, family members and members of our community,” said Joy Shepherd, administrator.

According to Shepherd, receiving the COVID-19 vaccine has brought the staff and residents even closer. “Our staff has really stepped up and has gone out of their way to love and protect our residents during a time when family members are unable to visit due to the many restrictions for nursing homes at this time,” she said.

Shepherd concluded, “Pleasant View Nursing Center is very committed to serving our residents, family members and our community. The staff has done a tremendous job adapting to the challenges brought on by COVID-19.”
