The weight room has sat empty for the past few months, but no longer. The Metter High School football team is back and ready for action! The team has been approved to re-open for conditioning purposes on Monday, June 8.
“With the guidelines in place, we have organized our team and coaching staff in such a way as every kid can lift weights and run Monday-Friday. We will have groups lifting and running at 8:30 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.,” said Head Coach Rodney Garvin.
“Safety of our kids and coaching staff is the number one priority at this time as we return. We are following all of the guidelines presented to us and are grateful for the opportunity to return. I can't wait to get back around our players and really re-develop the relationships that we have built. I know the mixture of talent, hard work and great team chemistry is why we won the region title last year and made a good run in the playoffs,” he continued.
“With being apart for so long we will depend on our seniors more than ever to bond this team and hold each other accountable to create another great Metter Tiger football team,” Garvin said.
