The Candler County School District will be hosting two opportunities for parents and community to discuss details of returning to school in the fall of 2020.

“In light of the COVID -19 pandemic, there is still a lot of uncertainty regarding details of how to most safely return in a manner that is manageable and within guidelines,” said Superintendent Dr. Bubba Longgrear.

“There will be a time for group discussion, input from constituents in attendance and updates on tentative guidelines driving decision-making,” he continued. “School leaders will be in attendance seeking input from parents regarding their concerns or desires in making a smooth and meaningful transition back into a traditional setting.”

The meetings will be held Monday, June 22, at 5:30 p.m. and Tuesday, June 23, at 9 a.m.

Both listening sessions will take place at the Metter k-8 facility in the Bigwood room.

Social distancing will be a priority for these sessions.
