The 2020 Summer Reading Program at Candler County Library kicked off on Monday, June 1, and will continue through Saturday, Aug. 1.

The program will be online and at a distance. As always, participants will track their reading, participate in events, complete fun activities and enter drawings for prizes. Readers of all ages are welcome to participate. Challenge categories are planned for babies to adults.

This year, the library has moved to an online platform called Beanstack, which allows readers to track their reading and earn digital badges using a website or mobile app.

Summer Reading Program packets will be given out in the lobby on Mondays through Thursdays, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Each library in the Statesboro Regional Library System will be hosting a variety of special performers, storytimes, crafts and events and each will have their own system for prize drawings. Summer reading participants can participate in any online events and activities hosted by any library in the region in order to complete the Beanstack activities and earn their badges.

Participants can visit the library’s website: for full details, calendar of events, Beanstack registration and tutorial.

Visit the LC Anderson Memorial Library Facebook page for virtual performances.
