Local attorney Bobby Jones of the law firm of Jones & Smith has been awarded the Judicial Edition Award from the rating research company Martindale-Hubbell.
Jones received the AV Preeminent rating, which, according to Martindale-Hubbell, is the “... pinnacle of professional excellence earned through a strenuous Peer Review Rating process that is managed and monitored by ...” Martindale-Hubbell.
The AV Preeminent rating is the highest possible rating in both legal ability and ethical standards, reflecting the confidential opinions obtained by Martindale-Hubbell from members of the State Bar of Georgia and members of the Judiciary of the State of Georgia.
Judges and lawyers are contacted directly by Martindale-Hubbell and are asked to rate lawyers that they are familiar with using a procedure that is confidential. The lawyers being rated do not know who is being contacted nor the substance or content of the response obtained.
Martindale-Hubbell has been providing services to the legal community since 1887. The “AV Preeminent” rating is limited to the top 1 percent of lawyers in the United States. The announcement of Jones having obtained this rating was made by Diana Schulz, president of Martindale-Hubbell.
Jones and his partner, Julian ‘Butch’ Smith, have practiced in Metter for four decades, with primary emphasis in the areas of wrongful death, personal injury and medical malpractice.
