Shop with folks you know. Shop local. Shop Small! This Saturday is the nationwide recognition of Shop Small Saturday, but more importantly, it is time for the local community to take advantage of specials and deals offered throughout the day on Saturday, Nov. 28.
“Our merchants will be having sales that are for that day only,” said Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Victoria Gaitten.
And don’t forget, when you make a purchase at a local Chamber merchant, put your name and phone number on your receipt and put it into a drawing box for chances to win Candler Cash. Drawings will be held on Dec. 3.
“The more you shop, the more chances you have to win,” Gaitten said.
In addition to local merchant sales, don’t forget to visit the Nov. 28 pop-up shop at the old Vault 206 location.
to be held Dec. 3
Because of Covid concerns, the City of Metter opted not to host this year’s Christmas parade. However, last week the City approved a parade application for Metter-Candler Chamber of Commerce.
“We’re having a Pajamarama Christmas parade!” reported Victoria Gaitten, chamber executive director. “The parade will be held with our Pajamarama celebration and the Lighting of Metter.
“People are already telling me how excited they are for us to be able to have a parade this year!”
According to Gaitten, there is no need to sign up in advance for the parade. “Just show up for line-up at 5 p.m. in front of the historical society,” she said. And remember, this is a night-time parade, so include plenty of lights!
