Clown on South Leroy

When it comes to spreading happiness and cheer, Mindy Rich is not clowning around! Rich has been waving at passersby from the front of her South Leroy Street home all day today in her clown costume!

"This was my Halloween costume, and when I wore it outside, people would wave and blow their horn, and I wanted that reaction today, to spread some positivity and make people smile," she said. "All of this (coronavirus) news is so overwhelming and I have to have a way to distract myself. I've had a lot of positive feedback and people are bringing other people to see me and to take pictures."

Rich said she will be out there as much as she can in the days ahead, and don't be surprised to see her joined by a friend or two -- all staying a safe six feet away from each other!

"I am trying to be creative in times like this," she said. "All I want is waves, smiles and horns blowing -- and a few ideas for signs!"
